Anbaric Development Partners, a leading developer of large-scale electric transmission and storage projects, has taken a major step to secure permitting for the Juno Power Express project, which would deliver 1200MW of offshore wind power to the Ruland Road 138kV substation on Long Island, by submitting an Article VII Application to the State of New York. The LIPA Ruland Road 138 kV substation has long been identified as a key point of interconnection for offshore wind, and Anbaric has been developing this project for years with the assistance of Hallen Construction’s local expertise.
The application is part of Anbaric’s decades-long record of developing reliable and scalable transmission projects across New York, New Jersey, and New England. Studies show planned transmission for offshore wind will minimize environmental impacts, reduce costs to ratepayers, and allow offshore wind to scale more quickly–precisely what is needed to achieve New York’s vision of 9,000MW of offshore wind by 2035 and to grow beyond, to meet long-term carbon reduction goals.

About the Juno Power Express Project
With the local expertise of Hallen Construction, a Long Island-based construction company, Anbaric has been developing the Juno Power Express project into an ideal option for connection of offshore wind power to the electric grid at Ruland Road substation. The site has both 800MW and 1,200MW interconnection positions. The underground transmission line coming from an offshore wind lease area in the Atlantic will make landfall at Jones Beach and follow a 17.7-mile route to the Ruland Road converter station location, where Anbaric maintains site control at an adjacent property. The route is surveyed with utilities located, centerline construction drawings, and HDD’s completed. The Article VII Application is a requirement of the New York State Public Service Law, specifically for “Siting of Major Utility Transmission Facilities,” that provides for a full review of the need for major transmission facilities and the environmental impact of their siting, design, construction, and operation in New York state.
