Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire and Rhode Island issue a joint Request for Information to integrate clean energy resources
Wakefield, MA – Anbaric, a leading energy infrastructure developer, released the following statement today regarding the release of a joint Request for Information from five New England States seeking to explore investment in electric transmission infrastructure:
“By issuing this Request For Information, New England States are taking a major step toward accelerating the rapid growth of the offshore wind industry. Analysis from the Brattle Group shows that independent offshore transmission systems can reduce ratepayer costs, protect the environment, and minimize impacts on fisheries while avoiding the need for disruptive and costly onshore grid upgrades. Over the past two decades, Anbaric has been a leading advocate for the benefits of planned, open-access transmission for offshore wind. This important step will position New England States to access Federal transmission funds, continue developing the world-class offshore wind resource needed to achieve climate goals, and advance a sustainable, shared ocean grid.”
