Janice Fuller, who has served as chief of staff to U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone since 2015, will join Wakefield, Mass.-based Anbaric as the company’s president of the New Jersey OceanGrid.

Fuller will be responsible for the development of an open-access transmission system, the company said on Friday, that will help to reach Gov. Phil Murphy’s goal of 3500 MWs of offshore wind energy by 2030.

The New Jersey OceanGrid will connect offshore wind to the on-shore transmission grid through lines buried underwater and ground.

Anbaric’s Lead Partner for Transmission Clarke Bruno pointed to Fuller’s congressional and state government experience as making her uniquely qualified for the role.

Prior to her time as chief of staff, beginning in 2009 Fuller served as Pallone’s district director. She also served as director of cabinet affairs in Gov. John Corzine’s administration from 2006 to 2009 and as the executive director of the New Jersey State Committee from 2003 to 2006.

“We want to be a leader in the New Jersey market for the next decade and beyond and Janice positions us to do that,” Anbaric Chief Executive Officer Edward Krapels said in a prepared statement. “She will oversee our work building the transmission infrastructure to develop a thriving offshore wind industry in New Jersey.”

Pallone, D-6th District, also chairs the House Energy and Commerce Committee.
