Statement from Anbaric CEO Clarke Bruno on the Observance of Juneteenth

Anbaric Development Partners, LLC joins with Massachusetts residents and all Americans in celebrating the first official observance of Juneteenth. This holiday commemorates the day in 1865 when the last enslaved men, women, and children in the United States in Galveston, Texas, learned of their freedom. This occurred two years after President Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation.
Anbaric, as a small, majority employee-owned business committed to diversity, acknowledges the importance of this holiday. “The Juneteenth holiday, now recognized by Congress, asks all Americans to reflect on the contributions of those people who were enslaved in building our nation and reminds us that the legacy of slavery and systemic racism remains with us today,” said Clarke Bruno, CEO of Anbaric. “Our mission is to celebrate the holiday and embrace its message that the work of fortifying democracy and building an inclusive economy and diverse workplace remains” he added.
Anbaric develops electricity infrastructure, namely transmission lines to link markets and bring renewables to load centers, and large-scale storage projects to fortify the grid. The history of the development of infrastructure in the United States reflects systemic racism by delaying or denying basic infrastructure to communities of color – fire protection, piped water, sewers, paved roads, electricity, and parks among other essential services.
