Anbaric Development Partners, a leading developer of electric transmission projects, released the following statement today from Janice Fuller, President, Mid-Atlantic, regarding the opening of the PJM solicitation window for the submission of transmission solutions to deliver offshore wind to New Jersey:
“We applaud Governor Murphy, President Fiordaliso, the BPU, and PJM for taking this tremendous step forward today. New Jersey continues to demonstrate its leadership in offshore wind and its significant commitment to efficiently and expeditiously scaling the offshore wind industry. This solicitation will only further the state’s momentum.
“As the principal industry advocate for a planned, independent transmission system that protects ratepayers and grows the industry, Anbaric was encouraged when planned transmission was touted as ‘important to reach the state’s long-term offshore wind goals’ in the state’s Energy Master Plan. Today’s action makes those words a reality. It means the state clearly recognizes the need for planned transmission, both for the economic and environmental benefits it provides.
“This solicitation looks to build a sustainable transmission system not just for today, but for New Jersey’s clean energy future.”
