Governor Cuomo has committed to secure 50% of New York’s electricity from clean energy by 2030 (50 by 30). On Long Island, that means the current clean energy supply must increase 17-fold.
The project consists of four new wind and two new solar farms, developed by Invenergy, located within the 12-state PJM regional power market, with a combined capacity exceeding 700 MW. All the renewable energy from these projects will be joined into a single portfolio and delivered to Long Island from PJM via a new buried Anbaric HVDC transmission line. This transmission line will end at a net-zero converter station on Long Island.
Clean Energy Link is the largest renewable energy project ever proposed for Long Island, capable of more than tripling its green energy supply. No other project gets Long Island closer, faster to the 50 by 30 mandate.
