Barbara Kates-Garnick is Senior Advisor and Board Member at Anbaric. Barbara is currently a professor of practice at the Fletcher School of Tufts University and senior research fellow at its Center for Environmental and Research Policy. She has had an extensive career in state government under three governors, academia and the private sector. She served as the undersecretary of energy for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts where she was responsible for guiding energy policy. In that role, she co-chaired Massachusetts’ Global Warming Solutions Act Implementation Advisory Committee. Over the course of her career, she created NYACRE, a clean technology incubator at New York University Tandon School of Engineering where she also taught courses on energy policy. She served as corporate officer at a major U.S. utility, a consultant on strategic energy initiatives, and as a public utility regulator. Among her other engagements are the Board of Energy and Environmental System (BEES) of the National Academy of Sciences, and the advisory committee of Draper Laboratory.
