New York, NY, – New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today delivered an ambitious outline of his agenda for the first 100 days of 2019, including a Green New Deal for New York and making the state carbon neutral by 2040. The new goals create a significant opportunity to harness the power and potential of offshore wind in New York and build on the state’s nation-leading commitment to advance renewable energy.
In response to the Governor’s effort to combat climate change, Anbaric CEO Edward N. Krapels released the following statement:
“Anbaric applauds Governor Cuomo on his bold climate leadership and commitment to spearhead a Green New Deal and make New York carbon neutral by 2040.
A critical part of this ambitious effort will include harnessing the full potential of offshore wind by building efficient, smart transmission infrastructure to develop 2,400 megawatts or more of offshore wind and best position New York to grow a clean energy economy, lower costs and deliver clean power to millions of consumers.
We look forward to seeing these goals become reality as we work to protect our environment for generations to come.”
